Dubai – A kind-hearted Dubai police officer stepped in to pay a fine on behalf of an Arab woman who was sentenced to 100 days in jail.
Lieutenant Abdul Hadi Al Hammadi, an officer at the Rashidiya police station, paid AED 10,000 to spare the mother of a 7-month-old-baby jail.
The woman's husband who had only AED100 with him was unable to raise funds to pay the penalty and spare his wife prison.
The officer said that he was moved by the sight of the husband sobbing in front of him and the thought that the woman may have to languish behind bars depriving the infant of a mother's much-needed care.
