I RECENTLY read a story about an Oxford professor, John Pitcher, who had gone to an employment tribunal because he didn’t wish to retire two years ago at the age of 67. It got me thinking about people I know in Bahrain who refuse to retire.
What is wrong with people who want to work on into old age?
I’m sure the professor enjoyed his career along with his £83,000 annual salary, plus housing allowance and other benefits. But does he not feel it’s time to relax, go fishing, play golf, write that novel or maybe spend more time with his loved ones?
