Abu Dhabi: A supplier is under investigation after thirty children from two schools in Al Ain fell ill because of suspected food poisoning.
The incident prompted the Ministry of Education to suspend the firm from supplying food to school cafeterias and launch an immediate inquiry, reports Albayan.
“The food supplier was suspended immediately and an inquiry into the suspected food poisoning is underway,” the ministry said on its Twitter account, adding that the students who received treatment are in stable condition.
The ministry expressed regret for the incident and said that the students who fell ill had been transferred to hospitals and outpatient clinics for medical treatment.
It has set up an emergency committee along with the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, which dispatched inspectors to investigate the incident.
