PHILIPPINE basketball superstar Willie Miller will be the top attraction in an exhibition match to be held tomorrow at the Muharraq Club gym in Arad, starting at 2pm.
The now-retired two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) professional league will be playing for the FCBG Bahrain Stallions against the visiting Surigao Team from Saudi Arabia.
The five-foot, 11-inch combo guard will also be conducting a basketball camp for children aged five to 17 tomorrow and Saturday.
Miller’s visit is being organised by the Filipino Club Basketball Group (FCBG).
Miller, 41, was the first overall pick of the Batang Red Bull Thunder in the 2001 PBA Draft. He last played in the PBA in 2015.
He also had stints with Talk ‘N Text Phone Pals, Alaska Aces, Barangay Ginebra Kings, Barako Bull Energy, Global Port Batang Pier, Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters.
He is a four-time PBA champion, two-time Finals MVP and twice the league MVP in 2002 and 2007. Miller has also been a member of the Philippine national basketball team.
In 2015, Miller was honoured as one of the 40 Greatest Players in PBA History – a list created to commemorate the league’s 40th anniversary.
