A WORLD famous author, poet and historian last night underlined the importance of the mother tongue and the art and culture of the mother land at the first-ever International Kannada Literary Conference at the Indian Club.
Also yesterday, Bahrain became the first overseas nation to host this event in the 104-year-old history of Bangalore-based Kannada Sahitya Parishad (KSP), the organisers of this annual literary festival .
