Royal Bahrain Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr Atul Bhaskar, a prominent paediatric orthopaedic surgeon from India, will visit the hospital from October 28 to 29.
During his visit, Dr Bhaskar - who has more than 25 years of experience - will be available for consultations as well as diagnosis and treatment of the following conditions: congenital deformity, clubfoot and hip dislocation, limping, bow-legs, knock knees, fractures and infections in children, in addition to fragile bone disease and short stature.
Dr Bhaskar (FRCS Orth, FRCS, MCh. MS, DNB) earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1991 from Bombay University in India, and went on to earn a Masters of Surgery in Orthopaedics at the same university in 1994.
He then pursued higher surgical training in the UK and obtained an FRCS in General Surgery from Glasgow in 1997.
He also got his MCh in Orthopaedics from the University of Liverpool, UK along with an FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedics to become a consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery.
Additionally, he attended fellowship trainings in Canada, Germany, US and UK.
Dr Bhaskar has published numerous publications including a book titled ‘Paediatric Fracture Management’ – Synopsis of Children Fracture Management in 2007.
He has also given various presentations at both national and international levels.
Dr Bhaskar is a member of several medical associations including Bombay Orthopaedic Society, Indian Orthopaedic Association, Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI), Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow), Indian Medical Association, Mumbai Branch of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy.
