Mark Al Khoori of Britain defeated Abdulla Al Shujaei 6-4, 6-3 in the men’s singles category of the 32nd GPIC Open Tennis Tournament which kicked off on Wednesday at Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) in Juffair.
The tournament, which is being held under the patronage of GPIC president Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, will run until November 19.
In the same category, Sa’ad Al Khan routed Samir Malgondar of India 6-0, 6-0, while Gerry Toledo of the Philippines beat Mohammed Al Nashaba 6-1, 6-2.
Anwar Hejris edged past Gerry Mohai of Britain 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-6, and Rikson Reblo downed Sami Samako of the Philippines 3-6, 7-6 (3), 10-6.
Hendezi of Belarus defeated Adel Redha 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-6, while Fateh Ekishi of Turkey held off Ibrahim Qaed 6-4, 6-4.
