The authorities in Oman have deported 458 illegal expatriate workers over the past few days, reported Oman Observer.
The deported expatriates were found in breach of the Labour Law and ministerial decisions implementing them.
Inspection teams working with the Ministry of Manpower also arrested 361 expatriate workers for various violations from November 11 to 17, including 242 commercial, 50 workers and 69 domestic workers.
The arrested expats, who included the 232 absconders and 18 workers without proper documents, were all referred to the competent authorities for legal action.
