BRAVE Combat Federation yesterday announced that Jose Torres has signed a multi-fight deal with the Bahrain-based promotion and is expected to make his debut in 2019.
The flyweight and bantamweight contender was one of mixed martial arts’ hottest free-agents.
Torres was part of the first generation of KHK MMA athletes and became a double champion at Titan FC while representing the fight team founded by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He was also the commentator for the first edition of Brave Combat Federation back in September 2016.
Aside from his two Titan FC titles, Torres is also a two-time gold medalist at the amateur level in the IMMAF World Championships.
He said that he will be focusing to become the world champion at Brave Combat Federation in multiple weight classes.
“Brave doesn’t have a flyweight champ yet. That’s something I want to do, possibly be their first flyweight champion and their first double weight champion,” said Torres in an interview with MMA Fighting.
Torres has a professional record of 8-1-0.
He also possess an undefeated amateur record, winning all his 12 bouts before turning professional in March of 2016.
At flyweight, Torres will join the likes of 10-time jiu-jitsu world champion Bruno Malfacine, Muay Thai specialist Marcel Adur, Combat Sambo world champion Velimurad Alkhasov and standout wrestler Sean Santella.
