Bahrain’s governorates have confirmed their programmes for Bahrain Sports Day to be held on February 12.
A set of unified activities will be held in the kingdom’s four governorates from 3.30pm at the third edition of the Sports Day organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). These events were discussed at the second meeting between the organising committee and representatives of the four governorates at the BOC premises in Seef.
The events include walking and running races for three kilometres, in addition to individual and team sports contests in specific locations in each governorate.
Al Najma Club will host the activities of the Capital Governorate, Awali walkway will feature Southern Governorate festivities while the Northern Governorate will conduct its programmes at A’ali walkway. There will be a number of events in Muharraq, organised by Muharraq Governorate.
The meeting was chaired by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant secretary general and BOC secretary general Abdulrahman Askar, in presence of Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs assistant undersecretary and organising committee member Dr Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Present were Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Youth Centres director Nawar Al Mutawa, BOC Information, Public Relations and Marketing director and Media Committee chairman Mohamed Lori, co-ordinators Fatima Al Sakran and Khalid Ibrahim, and governorates’ representatives Adnan Al Sada (Muharraq), Mohammed Al Buainain (Southern) and Yousif Al Zayani (Capital).
