Muscat: The number of people who have registered online in Oman to perform the Haj rituals this year in Saudi Arabia stood at 24,531, according to Times of Oman.
The Ministry of Endowments and Religion Affairs released the figures, which include 22,788 citizens and 1,473 expatriates.
However, only 13,598 people will be able to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the pilgrimage – 13,098 Omanis and 500 expatriates.
The ministry said that the online registration system for Haj pilgrims will conclude on Saturday (March 23).
