Riyadh - Thirteen people were convicted for the murder of Saudi preacher Abdul Aziz Tuwaijri while he was on a visit to Guinea in 2018.
A court in the West African country sentenced them to a minimum of 30 years in jail.
The ringleader Moussa Kante was present at the trial while the 12 other convicts were sentenced in absentia.
The Saudi preacher was shot dead in the village of Antebalandougou, near the border with Mali and Ivory Coast. He was on a visit to the country to build mosques.
He was leaving the mosque when the killer shot him twice in the chest.
