A BAHRAIN karting team has won several trophies in major events in its first year.
The DoJoMoto Racing team was crowned in several races during an awards ceremony for 2018-2019 Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship’s (BKSC) Bahrain Rotax Max Mojo Challenge (BRMMC) which ended last month at the Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
The ceremony was held at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) with chief executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa presenting the awards.
For DoJoMoto, the winner in the Micro category (aged eight to 10) was Luca Kane Houghton from Australia, with Louis Safa from Lebanon placed third.
Indian Santosh Kumar won the Mini category (aged 10 to 12), while in the Junior category (aged 13 to 15) Fahad AlKhaled, from Kuwait, came first, followed by Bahraini Fahad Al Muqla in second place.
DoJoMmoto Racing team coach and karter Rashid Almuammari described his enthusiasm after a successful first season.
“I have been coaching them and I am pleased with our first year as a team,” he told the GDN.
“We already won five out of six championships, including two in the UAE.
“As a team manager, I want to thank all who supported me in reaching this high level with my team in Bahrain and outside.
“I’m really proud of all the drivers in the team, and the champions.”
He also thanked the team’s sponsors, namely DHL Express, Sadad Bahrain and Aryan Xtreme Motorsports for their support.
Meanwhile, others honoured on the night included members of Absolute Racing and ED Racing Team.
