Riyadh: A Saudi national has been sentenced to six years and three months in prison for inciting the public, through his tweets, to resort to violent demonstrations, He allegedly defamed the rulers also in his comments on micro-blogging site Twitter, reported local Arabic daily Sabq.
He was convicted of his allegiance to prohibited terrorist organisations, meeting with opponent of the authorities and for his hostile ideas.
The court has also banned the convict from travelling abroad for a period equal to the jail term including confiscating his mobile phone and closing his twitter account.
