Work on phase two of the massive King Abdullah International Parks project is to resume, following directives from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
Located on the Jeddah Expressway in western Riyadh, the integrated development project has an area of 2.1 million square metres, Akhbar24.
The contract, worth more than SR1.602 billion, was awarded to Zeid Al-Hussein and Brothers Group. The project has to be completed within 30 months. At present, preparations are being made to begin completion of the project according to the set schedule.
The project comprises the main building, designed in the shape of two intersecting crescents encompassing a set of elements, including a plants museum, valley park, aqueous parks, and international parks.
The project included two crescent-shaped suspended gardens, botanical garden and museum, a bank for seeds, scientific parks, like a park for birds, and others for butterflies, light and sound, nature, discovery and a maze.
The project has been designed to include service facilities, an open amphitheatre, a sports track and a snow and water garden.
