Kuwait: Kuwaiti authorities are increasing security measures to protect vital facilities across the country, amid rising regional tensions.
The security agencies have launched an official investigation after a drone was spotted last Saturday in Kuwait’s airspace.
The three-metre-long unmanned aircraft which came from the sea descended to the altitude of 250 metres above Dar Salwa palace in the city of Kuwait.
The plane flew near the beach of Al Bada’a and headed to the city of Kuwait before leaving.
The Arabic paper Alqabas stated that unprecedented measures are being deployed to protect vital facilities across the country.
The cabinet directed security and military leaders to tighten measures near vital sites and take all necessary procedures to protect the security of Kuwait and its people.
Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah spoke with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to express support for the Kingdom following the attack, state news agency KUNA reported.
