THE Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation’s (Breef) showjumping season kicked-off yesterday under the patronage of Breef president Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa at the showjumping arena in Al Rafah.
The season opener featured two competitions for junior showjumpers.
In the first event, which showcased 85-95cm high obstacles, Hussain Asghar secured a one-two victory.
He finished first and second riding two different horses, clocking 41.41 seconds and 45.66 seconds respectively and without making any fault.
Charlotte Wats was third, two seconds behind the runner-up while Sultan Al Rumaihi finished fourth.
Sultan, meanwhile, secured a well-earned victory in the second competition which included 95-105cm obstacles.
He clocked 42.04 seconds and did not commit any fault while Grace Rodney finished in better time of 38.16 but her four faults proved costly.
Asghar finished third in 38.84 seconds, but he committed four faults.
