Riyadh: Saudi Arabia took over officially the presidency of the G20 Group for the year of 2020 at a meeting of the G20 Foreign Ministers.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdulla thanked Japan for the leadership and success of the Group's work in 2019, stressing his country’s readiness to host the Global Summit in 2020.
Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud attended the Osaka Summit in Japan last June and announced the Riyadh’s presidency programme, which includes the most pressing issues and challenges facing the economic sectors in the future, in cooperation with the G20 countries.
Saudi Arabia will launch details of its G20 Presidency programme on December 1, focusing mainly on supporting innovation in the world, achieving prosperity, empowering the people of the world and conserving the earth.
