The Bahrain national team will head today to Doha to take part in the 24th Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 24), which will open tomorrow and run until December 8.
Led by Bahrain Football Association (BFA) chairman Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the delegation includes vice chairman for administrative and financial affairs Ali Albouainain, board member Mohammed Al Hammadi, national team’s director Rashid AlBouainain and other officials.
The technical staff includes national coach Portuguese Helio Sousa, first assistant Jose Canero, second assistant Ahmed Isa and other members.
Helio Sousa named the final line-up which includes 23 players – Sayyed Mohammed Jaffer, Walid AlHayyam, Ismail Abdullatif, Mohammed Al Harda and Tiago (Muharraq); Sayyed Shebr Alawi, Sayyed Redha Isa, Ali Haram, Sayyed Mahdi Baqer, Mohammed Marhoon and Kameel Al Aswad (Riffa); Ali Madan (Al Najma), Ahmed Nabeel (Manama); Abdulla Al Hazza abd Mohammed Al Romaihi (East Riffa), Ahmed Boughamar, Rashid Al Hooti, Mohammed Abdulwahab and Abdulwahab Al Maloud (Hidd); Jassim Al Sheikh and Mahdi Humaidan (Ahli); Hamad Al Dosari (Hala) and Sayyed Dhiya Said (Kuwaiti Al-Nasr).
Bahrain were drawn in Group B along with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and title holders Oman. Bahrain will take on Oman on Wednesday, Saudi on November 30 and Kuwait on December 2.
The administrative staff will attend the technical meeting of the championship, which will be held today at 12.30pm at Sheraton Hotel Doha.
