THE Indian School Bahrain Brain Craft International Junior Ranking Circuit Tournament started last night at the Indian School badminton hall with a record 208 entries in various categories.
Ministry of Information Affairs assistant undersecretary and BBSF vice-president Abdulla A Al Balooshi inaugurated the event being held in association with Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF).
ISB chairman Prince S Natarajan, secretary Saji Antony, principal VR Palaniswamy, Riffa campus principal Pamela Xavier and Arab Badminton Federation secretary general Jaffer Ebrahim attended the ceremony.
The tournament will continue till January 27 and rankings will be given separately to boys and girls in the under-9,11,13,15,17 and 19 singles and doubles.
This is the first badminton tournament to be held in the recently refurbished ISB courts.
This tournament will be followed by other ranking events to be hosted by Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), Indian Club, Philippines Club (PBG), Ebrahim Badminton Academy (EBA) and BBSF.
The top ranked players will be announced at the end of the year and they will be awarded during the Junior International Series 2020 in December 2020.
