Adbulla Abdo scored a sensational goal during additional time to help Muharraq secure a 1-1 draw against Riffa in their 16th week match of the Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League at the Muharraq stadium last night.
Muharraq were staring at defeat after going goalless until the final moments of the game. Earlier, Riffa struck in the 13th minute through Mohamed Jasim and kept frustrating their opponents’ attempts to stage a comeback.
Jasim, however, shattered Riffa’s hopes of a victory and rise to the third position by scoring in the first minute of additional time.
Meanwhile, Al Hidd’s reign at the top continued after last night’s draw as Muharraq, who had defeated Al Shabab 1-0 last Friday, remained in the second spot with 26 points. Leaders Hidd have 28 points.
Riffa, who held off Al Hala 3-2 last Friday, remained in the fourth position with 19 points, behind third-placed East Riffa who have 20 points.
