Two Emirati police officers honoured in Barcelona

Abu Dhabi: Two Emirati police officers who helped catch a gang of thieves in Barcelona were honoured in the Catalonian town.

Barcelona City Police honoured Captain Salim Fahd Al-Nuaimi and his brother Al-Nuaimi, affiliates of the UAE Interior Ministry, in recognition of their bravery.

The ceremony was attended by Catalonian Police director-general Albert Batlle who presented the two brothers with certificate of appreciation.

Leading Spanish police officers and UAE General Consul in Barcelona Salim Rashid Al-Ouais also attended the ceremony which was held at the Palace of Conferences.

UAE Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al-Nahyan also honoured the two brothers and presented them with medals, reported local Arabic daily Ittihad.
