As the temperatures begin to rise, so too will the level of action and intensity at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) over the next two weekends.
The Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship (BKSC) heads into the final two rounds of its 2015/2016 season, and both are set to be hotly contested events with all still to play for.
The BKSC’s penultimate meeting takes place tomorrow in the world-class Sakhir karting facility; and then the championship finale will be held the following weekend on May 6.
Racing in the back-to-back includes the Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) and the Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship (SWS).
The BRMMC is a category exclusive for Rotax kart owners, while the SWS is an arrive-and-drive championship that is open to interested participants above the age of 16 of any nationality and skill-level. They compete in identical RT8 Sodikarts, provided by BIKC.
The stakes are higher than ever before with the season’s titles of both the BRMMC and SWS still up for the taking.
In the upcoming Friday meet, action is scheduled to begin at 4pm and end before 7pm.
Races
Race one in the SWS is at 5.05pm, followed by race one in the BRMMC at 5.30pm. SWS race two will then be held from 6pm and the BRMMC race two from 6.25pm.
Heading into this weekend’s events in the BRMMC, which marks its fifth and penultimate round, Zaid Audih looks to be the favourite to clinch the title in the Junior Max category. Audih leads with 140 points, while Talal Beshara is second with 90.
In the BRMMC’s Max/Max Masters class, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa is in first place with 103 points, only three ahead of closest rival Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. Hussain Hasan is third with 56 points.
In the SWS, which is staging the seventh of its eight rounds, Abdulla Buhindi leads the way with 231 points, but right behind him is Khalid Alsaie with 229. Ali Baslar is third with 200 points.
Fans can expect plenty of excitement in both meetings. All are welcome to attend and cheer for their favourite drivers. Entrance to BIKC is free of charge.
