Al Najma continued their impressive performance in the Nasser Bin Hamad Football League by defeating East Riffa 1-0 last night in the 16th round of the competition.
In another match, Busaiteen beat Al Ahli 1-0.
In the first match, at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, Mohammed Al Tayeb scored the goal for Al Najma in the 52nd minute. With this win, Al Najma have 28 points and are in fourth place ahead of East Riffa, in fifth place with 21 points.
In the second match, at Shaikh Ali bin Muhammad Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad, Moroccan player Mohamed Taous scored for Busaiteen in the 10th minute.
The victory helps Busaiteen temporarily climb above the relegation zone and are currently in eighth position with 13 points, while Al Ahli are in seventh place with 14 points.
The 16th round will continue today, with league leaders Muharraq facing third-placed and title holder Riffa, Hidd playing Al Hala and Al Shabab facing Manama.
