DUBAI: Ben Stokes’ spectacular hundred helped Rajasthan Royals register an emphatic eight-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in the IPL last night.
Stokes, who plundered 14 fours and three sixes in his unbeaten 60-ball 107, found an able ally in Sanju Samson 54 not out (off 31 balls) and took Rajasthan home with 10 balls to spare.
Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 60 from 21 balls as Mumbai posted a massive 195-5 on the board.
After electing to bat first, Mumbai lost Quinton de Kock in the first over. But steady knocks from Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Saurabh Tiwary laid the perfect platform for Hardik Pandya to explode in the final phase.
Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad (65*) and Ambati Rayudu (39) helped Chennai Super Kings to register an eight-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Sam Curran (3-19) and Deepak Chahar (2-31) helped Chennai restrict Bangalore to 145-6. Ruturaj Gaikwad (65*) and MS Dhoni (19*) took Chennai home with eight balls to spare. Gaikwad smacked three sixes and four fours in his match-winning knock.
