Bahrain’s CHAOSS Gym claimed 20 medals in the10th Inter-Gulf Gymnastics Championship at the Dubai Olympic Gymnastics Club (DOGC).
Nine-year-old Katelin Reed claimed the overall trophy in the four-piece level-three.
Katelin was first in the floor exercise with a score of 9.5 and second on the beam with 8.75, only 0.15 lower than first placed Maleeka Kadil of Dubai Elite Gymnastics Academy (DEGA).
Katelin was second again on the beam with 9 while Maleeka finished 0.3 points above her, and completed her routine finishing sixth on the vault with 8.7 points.
However, her cumulative score of 35.950 saw her claim the overall title. Maleeka finished with 35.550 points.
Chaoss’ Sina Abel finished overall second in the three-piece level-four with a total of 26.350 points, only 0.165 points behind the winner.
Sina, 14, was first on the floor with 9.5 points, third on the beam with 8.5 points and finished sixth in vault with 8.7 points.
Chaoss’ Maya Belt claimed two silver medals in the four-piece level-five open age category.
Maya was second on the floor with 8.9 points, only 0.1 less than winner Sophia. She was second on the beam as well with 8.6 points, just 0.25 points behind the winner.
Six-year-old Natalia Vilamizar was third in the four-piece level-two finishing third on the beam and vault with scores of 8.745 and 8.8 respectively, second on the floor with 9.1 and fourth on the bars with 8.1.
Bahraini Alya El Mahdy finished first on floor in the three-piece level-three for over-11 years with 9, same as Renee Rodgers but was wrongly awarded a silver medal instead of gold.
Other medal winners include eight-year-old Ellie Bruce Marie, who claimed second place on the vault in the three-piece level-two scoring 8.9 and 11-year-old Aliyah Idris was third on the vault in the four-piece level-three, scoring 12.2 out of a possible 13.
Alex Jones also managed two bronze medals finishing third on the vault and floor in the three-piece level-five, open age, with 9.05 and 8.05 respectively. Emily Zachlod finished third on the beam in the three-piece level-three with a score of 8.25.
Seven-year-old Ellie Stewart was third on the floor in the four-piece level-two with a score of 9.15.
In the boy’s competition, Hassan Nazeh Yusuf was second in the six-piece level-eight with an overall score of 40.8.
