An Indonesian woman is facing trial in Sharjah for trying to sell her newborn baby for AED10,000.
Two other Indonesian women are also standing trial on charges of assisting the mother.
A special police team, which was set up to investigate the case, caught the woman as she was selling her baby to undercover officers who had posed as buyers.
The Criminal Court in Sharjah, heard two of the three defendants, in addition to the testimony of an officer who had taken part in the arrest of the mother.
The Public Prosecution charged the trio with human trafficking and referred them to stand trial.
The case has been adjourned till January 9.
