A majority of the single-use plastic products tested randomly in Bahrain showed a high level of commitment to the government’s decision to support environment-friendly initiatives, according to the Industry and Commerce Ministry.
Of the 551 samples taken from 502 shops during a campaign targeting shops and points of sale, 83 per cent were found to comply with the ministry’s Resolution No 14 of 2022 prohibiting the manufacture, import and/or trading of single-use plastic bags with a thickness of less than 35 microns .
