BOCCIA – THE Manama 2024 World Boccia Challenger continues to take place in the kingdom, with Para athletes representing 14 countries from around the world.
Championship director Khalid Al Bastaki expressed his pride in the extensive efforts of the organising committees, highlighting their tireless work to ensure the success of the event. He emphasised the critical role of support from various entities, both public and private, which significantly facilitated logistical and organisational preparations.
Al Bastaki commended the continuous support and close follow-up from Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) president Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa and BPC secretary general Ali Mohammed Al Majid. He noted their contributions as a major source of motivation for the team, fostering a spirit of collaboration amongst all participants.
The championship features a series of competitions as well as cultural and recreational activities designed to enhance interaction between the Para athletes, their team members, and visiting delegates. It serves as a prominent platform to showcase the skills of determined athletes and raises awareness about the importance of inclusive sports.
Through the hosting of this championship, the BPC aims to position Bahrain as a key destination for international Paralympic sports events, further establishing its presence on the global sports map. The committee also aspires to provide a platform for athletes to excel and demonstrate their talents, offering them an opportunity to represent their countries with distinction.
