VOLLEYBALL – NABIH Saleh battled past Al Nasser in a five-set thriller last night as the second phase of the Top Six round got underway in the 2024-25 Isa Bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.
Nabih Saleh controlled the match in the opening two sets at Isa bin Rashid Arena, located within Isa Sports City in Riffa. But Nasser rallied back and forced the tie-break. There, however, Nabih Saleh managed to regain their form and hold on late to secure a 3-2 (25-19, 25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 15-13) result.
Playing key roles for the victors were Bahrain international Mohammed Jassim, along with Ali Marhout and Jaafar Radhi, among others. They overcame a tough challenge from Nasser’s Ebrahim Mohammed, Hussain Al Jishi, and Pakistan national team captain Murad Jehan.
With the result, claimed only their second win in four six matches, while handing Nasser their sixth straight defeat as they remained winless.
Top Six action continues tonight with two matches on the cards. At 8.30pm, Muharraq take on Al Najma, to be followed at 10pm by a mammoth clash between Al Ahli and defending champions Dar Kulaib.
