FUTSAL – THE General Directorate of Traffic team captured the title in the Police Open Futsal Championship, organised by the Public Security Sports Association (PSSA) at the Bahrain Handball Federation Arena in Um Al Hassam.
Public Security chief Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan attended the final, where the General Director of Traffic team defeated the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing team.
Lt Gen Al Hassan commended the directives of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa in providing the necessary resources to organise outstanding sports events and championships. He noted that these efforts reflect continued support for sports and athletes across the ministry’s teams, contributing to strong performances in both local and international tournaments.
He also commended the high level of performance, fair competition, and sportsmanship shown by the participants. He expressed his thanks to the PSSA and all organisers for the successful and honourable execution of the championship.
PSSA president Colonel Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat expressed his appreciation to Lt Gen Al Hassan for attending the closing ceremony and for his continued support and follow-up of all sports activities organised by the association. He noted these activities form part of the association’s strategy to enhance the physical and mental readiness of public security personnel.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Lt Gen Al Hassan awarded the winners’ trophy and gold medals to the General Directorate of Traffic team and presented the silver medals to the runners-up. He wished all participants continued success.
