EQUESTRIAN – THE Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef), in co-operation with the Emirates Arabian Horse Society, will organise the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup today and tomorrow at the Military Sports Union arena in Al Riffa, with the participation of 135 horses.
The event will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The event will feature six categories on the first day for fillies and mares, while colts and stallions will compete on the second day.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Nasser said that the strong ties between Bahrain and the UAE serve as a model of partnership and co-operation across various domains, particularly in sports, which has become a key pillar reflecting the depth of bilateral relations.
He noted that the championship reinforces Bahrain’s leading position in regional and international equestrian sport and reflects the trust and appreciation Bahrain receives from the UAE and the broader equestrian community.
He added that the event provides a distinguished platform to showcase the beauty of purebred Arabian horses and highlights the shared commitment of both countries to preserving the deep-rooted cultural and sporting heritage of equestrianism and passing it on to future generations.
Shaikh Nasser noted that the championship will also contribute to the advancement of equestrian sport in Bahrain and promote it globally in a professional manner worthy of its legacy.
