FAVOURITES had a very favourable day yesterday winning five of the seven feature races at the horse racing in Sakhir.
But outsider Misterioso, owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Brett Doyle, was the biggest winner claiming the richest race of the day.
Misterioso pipped Celtic Man by three-fourth-length to bag the Nass Corporation Cup for imported horses which carried a cash prize of BD5,000.
Muraweg was third and Pity Cash fourth.
Favourite Vale Do Sol, owned by Fawzi Abdulla Nass, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Darren Williams, lived up to expectations beating Fadhaa by two-and-half-a-length to claim the Late Abdulla Ahmed Nass Cup, sponsored by Nass the Group, which carried a cash prize of BD3,000.
Jumeirah Glory was third and Crown of Aragon fourth.
Methary, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, trained by James Naylor and ridden by Alberto Sanna, was another favourite to live up to expectations, beating Knight And Day by a length to win the Applied Science University Cup for locally bred horses which carried a cash prize of BD3,000.
Sayaad was third and Doc Holiday fourth.
Let Go Ego, owned by Ras Rumman Stable, trained by Taleb Ali and ridden by Brett Doyle, was the other upset winner when it beat Gomati by half-a-length to win the Blue Dawn Veterinary Supplies Cup for imported horses which carried a cash prize of BD2,500.
Donny Rover was third and Empiricist fourth.
Favourite Obeyan 1620, owned by Al Wasmiya, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and ridden by Alberto Sanna, routed Al Rabda 1558 by six lengths to win the Late Abdulla Ahmed Nass Cup, sponsored by Sarens Nass Middle East, for Arabian horses which carried a cash prize of BD2,500.
Al Saqlawy 1564 was third and Al Jellaby 1434 fourth.
Favourite Ghafiya, owned by Al Mallah Syndicate, trained by A Jalil Al Mallah and ridden by Hassan Saffar, beat Caped Crusader by half-a-length to win the Gulf City Cleaning Company Cup for locally bred horses which carried a cash prize of BD2,500.
Grace Kelly was third and Rayaash fourth.
Socialite, owned by Haitham Salah A Latef, trained by Abdulla Kuwaiti and ridden by Robert Khathi, also lived up to expectations beating Magsood by half-a-length to in the Shaw Nass Middle East Cup which carried a cash prize of BD2,500.
Nardeen was third and Tickity Boo fourth.
