UAE: The UAE Interior Ministry on Sunday warned the public against suspicious overseas calls and social media messages offering to sell narcotics and psychotropic substances.
A number of social media users reported calls on their mobile phones and messages on WhatsApp, bearing overseas numbers.
In a statement, the ministry said that some calls and messages had been from Pakistan. It urged people to avoid dealing with such calls and messages, urging them to alert security agencies by dialling 80044.
Meanwhile, UAE anti-drug director-general Colonel Said Al Suweidi said that co-ordination is underway with other countries to trace the people behind such calls and messages.
