Riyadh: A Saudi national has miraculously survived despite being impaled by a sharp metallic rod that skewered his back and pierced through his heart.
Doctors at the Prince Sultan Specialised Cardiac Centre in Najran performed an urgent open heart surgery and removed the metallic shrapnel.
General supervisor of King Khalid Hospital in Najran said that the injured man was admitted in a critical condition, reported local Arabic daily Sabq.
The man is now reportedly in stable condition at the hospital.
