Doha: Qatar’s Emiri Court announced the death of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Thani, former Amir of Qatar. He was 84 years.
Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani declared a three-day official mourning period during which the Qatari flags will be flown at half-mast.
The deceased is the father of Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Amir of Qatar, who handed over power to his son, Shaikh Tamim in 2013.
