FOOTBALL – LEADERS Muharraq will be looking to extend their lead atop the table in the 2024-25 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League tonight when they take on Sitra.
The game is set to be part of round 17 this season and it will be played at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town.
Muharraq currently have a commanding advantage on the standings. They are on 41 points – nine ahead of their closest challengers, two-time defending champions Al Khaldiya. Sitra are presently fourth on 27 points.
Their clash will be one of three fixtures this evening – Al Najma and Malkiya face off at the National Stadium in Riffa and A’ali take on Bahrain Club at Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad.
All the matches are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs.
League action continues tomorrow night with another three games to wrap up the 17th round. Khaldiya face off with Al Shabab at the National Stadium, while Riffa play Al Ahli at Khalifa Sports City Stadium. Manama and East Riffa lock horns at Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in a match between the league’s two bottom sides.
