VOLLEYBALL – MUHARRAQ and Al Ahli will be looking to close out their respective semi-final series tonight in the 2024-25 His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Cup.
Both sides hold 1-0 leads in their best-of-three match-ups.
Muharraq, the recently crowned Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League champions, are a game ahead of Al Najma in their final four affair, while Ahli, the winners of this tournament last year, hold the advantage against Dar Kulaib.
Muharraq’s game two clash with Najma is scheduled for a start of no earlier than 8.30pm, while Ahli and Dar Kulaib face off in a game starting at 6.45pm.
Both fixtures are set to be played at Isa bin Rashid Volleyball Arena, located at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Najma and Dar Kulaib will be aiming to extend their series to a third and decisive game. If needed, those contests will be held on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Bahrain Volleyball Association announced yesterday that the tournament final will be played on Tuesday next week, starting at 7pm at the same venue.
It will be a one-off affair, with the winners following in the footsteps of Ahli from 2024.
Should Muharraq and Ahli triumph tonight, they will set up a re-match of their league championship series, which Muharraq won in three games following a tough battle with their opponents.
It will also be a repeat of last year’s final in the HRH the Crown Prince’s Cup. Ahli won that contest in straight sets to capture the crown for the sixth time.
