BASKETBALL – MANAMA and Muharraq will be locking horns on May 14 for the right to lift the 2024-25 Khalifa bin Salman Cup.
The date of the tournament’s final has been announced by the Bahrain Basketball Association.
The title-decider will be held at Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, and it is scheduled for a 7pm tip-off.
Manama, the competition’s two-time defending champions, advanced to this season’s final after completing a two-game sweep of their best-of-three semi-final series against Nuwaidrat. Muharraq, on the other hand, outclassed Samaheej, also with a two-game sweep.
Both clubs are also amongst the leader contenders who will be battling in the last four of the 2024-25 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
The Khalifa bin Salman Cup is one of the most prestigious trophies on offer in the national basketball season. Manama won the last two editions, and they will be looking to secure an impressive ‘three-peat’.
Muharraq triumphed the first year the tournament was rebranded to its present form in 2017, and then Manama won in 2018. Riffa then claimed the trophy in 2019, before Ahli lifted it in three straight seasons from 2020 to 2022. Manama have since been crowned back-to-back winners.
