Moroccan side Wydad AC have dismissed South African coach Rulani Mokwena, the club announced on Tuesday.
Wydad are third in the Moroccan top flight with one game remaining but have no chance of finishing in the top two. They are set to play in the newly-expanded Club World Cup in the United States in June-July.
"Wydad Athletic Club board confirms that the contractual relationship with coach Rulani Mokwena will be officially terminated immediately after the end of the professional league, in compliance with the terms of the contract between the two parties," the club said in a statement on Facebook.
Mokwena will be granted an exceptional leave of absence until the end of the season, the club added.
Mokwena, 38, took over as coach of Wydad in July 2024, after leaving South African club Mamelodi Sundowns.
