Saudi Arabia has announced new laws that require employers in the private sector to inform job candidates about the reason for rejection.
The law serves to increase transparency in the workplace and preserve workers' rights by requiring employers to clarify the reasons behind any rejection. This is expected to help applicants understand how to improve and do better in future interviews.
Job applicants will now, by law, receive a response from employers within 30 days, along with clarification on the interview results.
The new laws also include banning job listings from including distinctions based on gender, disability, age and social status. The new laws also prohibit interviewers from asking personal questions and disclosing confidential information about an applicant's previous jobs.
