FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN Club defeated Manama 3-1 in the 21st round of the Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League last night.
All the goals were scored in the first half, with Bruno Ritter opening the scoring in the third minute. Gabriel Vasconcelos scored in the next minute to extend Bahrain Club’s lead.
An own goal in the 18th minute by Gustavo Campos reduced the margin for Manama, but Bahrain Club went further ahead when Mohammed Jamal found the net in the 34th minute.
Meanwhile in another 21st-round match yesterday, Sitra were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Najma.
Jean Granja put Najma ahead in the 89th minute, but Sitra managed to find the equaliser in additional time when Sungalo Bagayoko converted a penalty.
The 21st-round matches continue today when champions Muharraq take on East Riffa and Al Shabab lock horns with Al Ahli. Both the matches are scheduled to kick off at 7pm.
The 21st round will conclude tomorrow when second-placed Al Khaldiya face A’ali and Malkiya clash with Riffa.
Muharraq top the standings with 47 points, followed by Al Khaldiya with 39 and Sitra with 35.
