HORSERACING – ISA Bin Salman Education Charitable Trust chairman, Labour Fund (Tamkeen) chairman and Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has stressed the importance of developing local horseracing.
Chairing the REHC High Committee meeting at the conclusion of the 2024-25 racing season, Shaikh Isa highlighted Bahrain’s international standing in horseracing and the kingdom’s success in hosting major sporting events.
He attributed the progress to the support of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He also praised the dedication of national cadres in organising high-level championships and stressed the need for continuous assessment to ensure excellence in horseracing.
Shaikh Isa noted the strategic importance of REHC’s master development plan which aims to support sports and tourism in the country.
The meeting took up for discussion latest developments under the master development plan, such as construction of a world-class golf course and a strategic project aimed at transforming the REHC into an integrated sports centre.
The meeting also discussed the measures to enhance the international competitiveness of Bahrain’s horseracing sector and reviewed a presentation from the club’s investment committee.
