Saudi-based Diriyah Gate Development Authority has unveiled plans to make Diriyah the largest cultural heritage site in the world, reported SPA.
The plan that was drawn up under the directives of the Saudi King Salman and HRH the Crown Prince will contribute to making Diriyah the largest cultural heritage site in the world, in addition to creating jobs, it stated.
Diriyah Gate Development Authority CEO Jerry Inzerillo stressed the importance of the Diriyah Gate project as an international tourist destination focusing on culture and heritage due to its archaeological landmarks, stated the report.
Inzerillo said the Phase One of the project consists of 86 main tourism sites with many of them linked to museums.
The mega project will provide 55,000 jobs, of which 15% will be from the Diriyah region, he added.
