Bahrain national handball team will head today to Hungary for the final training camp ahead of the 20th Asian Championship, which will be held in Saudi Arabia from January 18 to 31. The national squad is stepping up preparations, hoping to book a berth in the 2023 World Men’s Handball Cup, which will be co-hosted by Sweden and Poland.
Coach Aron Kristjánsson has lined up 18 players for the training. They are Hussein Ali Al Sayyad (Al Noor – Saudi Arabia), Mohammed Abdulhussein, Mohammed Mirza Salman, Bilalr Basham Askani, Ali Abdulla Eid, Mahdi Abdulla Saad and Mohammed Habib Nasser (Al Najma), Hassan Al Samaheeji, Mohammed Ali Abdul Ridha, Abdulla Ali and Hussein Mahfoudh (Al Ahli), Mohammed Habib and Ahmed Jassim Al Maqabi (Al Qadisiya – Kuwait), Ali Mirza Salman (Burqan – Kuwait), Ali Abdulqader Salman (Kadhima – Kuwait), Ahmed Jalal Fadhl (Al Shabab), Qassim Qamber (Barbar) and Hesham Ahmed Isa (Al Dair).
Bahrain have been drawn in Group D along with Japan, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
