SAUDI Arabia’s Yara Alhogbani was on course for a double when she entered the girls’ singles final of the first Bahrain event in the International Tennis Federation’s World Tennis Tour Juniors Calendar beating Israel’s Isabel Esther Bilaus 6-1, 6-0 in the semi-final yesterday at the Bahrain Tennis Federation’s courts in Isa Town.
Yara will take on top seed Tamara Ermakova, who defeated Germany’s Laura Maiser 6-4, 6-3 in the second semi-final, in today’s final.
In the boys’ singles, Qatar’s Rashid Nawaf is also in line for a double following victory over China’s Yahan Zhang 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-final. In the final, Rashid will face Serbian Marko Milosavić, who beat Itay Cohen, of Israel, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4.
