Bahrain Football Association (BFA), in partnership with Zamzam Currency, the first Islamic digital currency in the world, launched the NFT project for the best player in each round of the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League.
Al Khalidiya player Mahdi Humaidan got his first NFT by winning the ‘Star of the Sixth Round’ award of the league.
The star players of the first five rounds will be honoured during the next few days, and every player, starting from the seventh round, will receive the award until the end of the season.
Eleven shirts will be offered to all teams participating in the tournament, numbered from 1 11, and all NFTs will be offered for public auction.
Many surprises will also be announced and buyers of NFT will also be awarded.
An award with the value of 10 million Zamzam will be presented to the winner of the final competition. NFT holders can also resell it at any time, at any price, and to anyone.
BFA president Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed pride in the league which became the first in the world to officially adopt the NFT.
