THE Quick Response (QR) Code will soon replace information leaflets available inside medicine boxes.
The e-Leaflet project will be introduced gradually this year, the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) announced yesterday.
Clinicians and patients can scan the datamatrix code on the packaging, using their mobile, to access product information, the authority said.
The QR code will facilitate access to updated medical information including the manufacturing process, expiry date and content of the drugs.
It will also ensure product authentication, the NHRA added.
