HIS Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was crowned champion of the 160km His Majesty the King’s Cup endurance grand race yesterday.
The race, part of the Endurance Ride Festival organised by Breef featuring several races at the Bahrain International Endurance Village, was won by Shaikh Nasser in 6 hours, 34 minutes and 29 seconds; almost 14 minutes ahead of Nasser Al Qahtani of KHK team. Mohammed Abdulsamad of Al Ruood team took third place in 6:52:33.
His Majesty’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the festival which took place in the presence of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Royal Family members and other dignitaries.
“The endurance sport has accomplished multiple achievements generation after generation. This reflects His Majesty’s keenness to provide all support in order for this sport to continue on the same path,” Shaikh Nasser said.
