Al Ahli rallied from a five-point deficit at half-time to seal an 85-82 victory against Manama in their 21st-week game of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League yesterday.
Manama took the opening quarter 18-17 and stayed ahead in the second quarter to lead 46-41 at half-time. Their lead surged to 11 points after the end of the third quarter, but Al Ahli staged a magnificent comeback in the final session to win the game by three points. Wayne Chism led the winners with 27 points and 19 rebounds while Maitham Jameel contributed 18 points, Mohamed Qurban chipped in with 14, Mohamed Kuwayed added 11 and Hesham Sarhan finished with 10. Mohamed Ameer top-scored for Manama with 23 points.
Earlier, Nuwaidrat secured a 90-67 win over Samaheej in their 21st-week game. S Hashim Habib was the top scorer for Nuwaidrat with 24 points.
The 21st-week games conclude today when Al Ettihad take on Sitra at 5.30pm and Muharraq clash with Al Hala at 7.30pm.
